Il Giuncheto" "IL GIUNCHETO" is a farmhouse which is situated on a hill (550m) and has been converted into a comfortable villa which authentic thick walls and wooden ceilings. It is surrounded by lots of trees and greenery. It has a magnificent view on the Apennines' spurs and CHIANA VALLEY. At a distance of 2 km from the house you arrive at the village called TREQUANDA and at 4 km you arrive at the town called SINALUNGA with its supermarkets, a discotheque, public swimming pool, the railway-station (SIENA-CHIUSI), hotels, and its local market. SIENA is roughly 40 km from the house. The place is known for its beauty, lots of sightseeing plus the famous square where they yearly have the mediaeval horse race called " PALIO". (dates: July 4th and August 16th). AREZZO at half an hour distance from the house is known for its monthly antique market and has lots of small antique shops. In the mountains you will find some enchanting villages for instance: CORTONA, PIENZA and MONTEPULCIANO. At not too far a drive, one will find the beautiful mediaval villages called PERUGIA and ASSISI. FLORENCE (100 km) and ROME (190 km) can either be reached by car or by train. Spa's can be found at the Roman town of RAPOLANO TERME (15 km) as well as at BAGNO VIGNONI. The watertemperature is 43 degrees Celcius / 104 degrees Fahrenheit and is open all year round |

Sporting facilities: At the house we can provide a tabletennis and for children we have a swing and a small pool. Nearby there is the possibility of swimming. There are swimming pools in the following places: TREQUANDA, BETTOLE, and SINALUNGA. There is also the possibility of sailing and swimming at the lake TRASIMENO (30 km). Tennis is possible in TREQUANDA and SINALUNGA. Horseback riding at a distance of 1 km. An 18 hole golfclub is near PERUGIA and 9 holes in Bettolle. (7 Km) Restaurants: The Tuscan kitchen is simple but good. In the neighbourhood are lots of cheap and cheerful restaurants. Some of the famous wines that come from this area, "CHIANTI PUTTO', are extremely good and cheap of which "Vino Nobile di Montepulciano" and "Brunello" are recommended. The most pleasant months are April, May, June, September and October. July and August are the hottest and driest months. We do have our own water-well, so we are always provided with sufficient water. Wintermonths can be very pleasant and sometimes one is able to sit outside or inside by the fireplace while enjoying a glass of the local wine and cheese. There is also a possibility to do some culture by visiting museums or cultural centres in the neighbourhood, more quiet than in the Summer. LAY-OUT OF THE APARTMENTS: FIRST FLOOR: (For 2 persons, max 4) Large bedroom with four-poster bed; dressing room; bathroom (bath and shower); two rather large living rooms, one of them has a fireplace and the other a grand piano. A staircase takes you to the kitchen with modern equipment( including dishwasher) GROUND FLOOR: (For 4 to 7 persons) Quite a large living-room with fireplace; 2 bedrooms (single beds only); 1 bedroom (3 single beds); bathroom (bath and shower); large terrace (15 m) with a possibility of eating outside; kitchen with modern equipment. |

THE DETACHED HOUSE: (For 2 to 4 persons) It is located 25 m from the main house. Living-room with fireplace overlooking the terrace. In the livingroom is an entresol with two single beds; 1 bedroom (two single beds); bathroom (shower) kitchen with a washing machine. All apartments are comfortably furnished, including telephone, Satellite TV, central heating, hot and cold water. If needed a child's bed and cod can be provided. Round the main house is a lawn, a vegitable garden and some fuittrees, where one can sit and enjoy the view. Garden furniture and parasols are provided. There is the facility to park the car near the house. |
